Look At Me!

While waiting for Uncle Rudy at Camp Pendleton, Melanie was pretending to drive! She was enjoying her time behind the wheel while sitting on Papa's lap. She was two and half years old when these photos were taken.

Boy / Little Rudy

Little Rudy is sometimes called "Boy" by his parents! Makes me think of the old Tarzan movies. Didn't Tarzan call his son "Boy"? Here is a series of Little Rudy! I just love the cool look he has while he's wearing his Woody hat. The Rudys look just like each other wearing their Mr. Potato Head glasses! The top one he is waiting anxiously or is he nervous? He's just like his mother here, with his blanket! And of course, what little boy doesn't like to play in boxes! I'm so glad Brenna sends me photos of my little kiddos!

The Two of Us

This photo of Roy and me was taken at a wedding we attended in May of 2010. I think we look pretty happy or could it be the drinks we had at the reception? We had a great time, Ron and Sharon were also there. We always have fun with them. The groom was the son of one of their co-workers, Mike Zamesnek. Mike's wife, Susan did a fantastic job making sure the wedding and reception were perfect!

A Day at the Pickle Festival

I think it looks like Isabel is really at a Hula Festival instead of the Pickle Festival! It's great that Brenna and Rudy are experiencing the local food festivals around their new home in North Carolina. Brenna did say this was a little disappointing, she was expecting more pickles! I heard the "Ham and Yam" was much better!

They're Not Listening to Me!

Melanie was so upset with her dad and Papa at this moment. She wanted to tell them something but they were engrossed in their own conversations and didn't pay attention to her. She came to me and said, "They're not listening to me". I had to chuckle to myself because of the expression on her face. I grabbed my camera and asked her to give me that look again! I can only imagine the looks she will give her parents when she is a teenager! What a priceless memory this is for me!

Turtle Bay, page 2

This is the second page of the Turtle Bay layout. As you can see, Heather also enjoys grown-up drinks on the beach. It was such a beautiful day! We started out by seeing this amazing rainbow on the way and ended up by having a great lunch at the North Shore......El Cholos. My mother was always in the water! LOL, that's what she likes to do when she is at the beach! Go figure!

Summer Wishes

Ok, it isn't really summer in this photo. It's October and Heather, my mother and I were visiting Brenna and her family. We spent one day at one of my favorite resorts and beach, Turtle Bay. It is just so restful there and I can enjoy my favorite beach activities! Reading and drinking! Somehow, Mai Tai's just taste even better sitting on the beach! So, my "Summer Wish" is to be back on the beach in Hawaii! And wishes do come true since we're going to Maui this summer.

It's time to sing a round of Happy Birthday to Regina! Here are the El Perico Guys lending their voices and wishing a Feliz Cumpleanos to her! Look how Chloe is eyeing that ice cream treat! I'm sure Regina is looking forward to her next "big" birthday!!!

It's Her Party!

I think Regina's 50th birthday was a blast! Her daughter Amanda was down from Washington (it was a surprise)! All of her siblings, in-laws,nieces and nephews were there to help make it a special event!

Rudy and Woody

Little Rudy loves Toy Story! Doesn't he look so suave wearing his Woody outfit? I love how his hat sits jauntily on his head. Just like Woody! I think they even have the same look in their eyes!

Regina's 50th B-day

We celebrated Regina's 50th birthday with a family dinner at El Perico. Here are a few of the party folks that evening: Nancy Christian, Michael Gavigan, Rudy Ramos, Chloe Crockett, Michael and Melanie Jenkins. We had the back room all to ourselves that evening. I love getting together with my family and friends! I don't need a reason to celebrate!

Isabel Christmas 2007

Isabel is all ready for a day of shopping or a night on the town! She has her purse, her dress and her pearls. It was such fun to see how much she enjoyed all the little girl things. When in doubt, overdress! That is my mantra!

Grandmom and Isabel

This was one of the saddest days of my life. This was the day that Brenna and Isabel moved to Hawaii. I was excited for them but it was hard for me. I am thankful for the time we had together and thankful for the visits we share. Now Brenna and her family are living in North Carolina and it has been almost six-months since we saw them last. Thank goodness for unlimited long distance, iChat and Skype! I know we will be seeing them soon!

Michael Pre-school 87-88

Michael's official second year pre-school photo. He attended First Presbyterian for two years with his good friend, Luke Carnine. I couldn't ask for a better school for Michael. He had a wonderful experience there and he was well-prepared for kindergarten. My favorite memory is that he would never paint a picture the first year he attended and when he finally did (second year) it was a perfect apple (stem and leaf included). He just wasn't ready until he could do it right! LOL

My son, 1983

Michael was born in January of 1983. Here he is at 2-months old. Look at his happy eyes and his little toothless smile! Sometimes, I miss those days. I said "sometimes", LOL. I'm so glad I started this project of mine, it has given me the opportunity to relive some pretty fantastic moments in my life! I have also been using quite a bit of my scrapbooking supplies too!

Cowgirl Up!

Brenna wasn't really too keen on having her photo taken on the pony! She was barely three-years old at the time. I wonder if they still have people going door-to-door selling pony photos nowadays? I know she wasn't that traumatized by the "beast" because she did ride horses later and I even had her photo taken another time!

Princess Class

Here are more photos of Melanie's Princess Class held at the Disney Store. All of girls were taught how to do the perfect princess wave and the all important curtsy! How can you greet your subjects and meet other royalty if you haven't mastered these two actions. Melanie enjoyed herself at this class; her best friend, Kaitlyn also attended.

Vegas Weekend

It's me and Corrina! And we are enjoying a wonderful refreshment on the Strip! It's part of the Vegas thing....you need a big glass or a guitar filled with alcohol! LOL. Just another way of celebrating a fun weekend with the girls from work! I think we need to go again!

Mission Inn, page 2

More views of how beautiful the lights are at the Mission Inn. Photos cannot describe how festive the Mission Inn becomes during the holiday season! After dinner, the four of us walked around the downtown area. They had an outdoor ice skating rink (just for the Christmas holidays) and look at Steve.....we had a huge dinner and he's holding a bag of kettle corn! I'm sure it's mine since I'm taking the photo. Once again, we had an enjoyable evening with our friends.

Mission Inn 2006

Our wedding anniversary is right after Thanksgiving. As Roy likes to say, "It's always the Saturday after Thanksgiving" (no matter what the date is). One of our favorite places to have a special dinner is at the Mission Inn. During the Christmas season, it is decorated so beautiful! You really get a sense of the holiday season. It really helps to get you in the mood for everything that makes Christmas special. Our good friends, Brenda and Steve Sharp were there to help use celebrate 28 years together!

It Takes Two Hands to Eat!

It takes two hands for an almost two-year old to eat Thanksgiving Dinner like a big girl at the big table! She is certainly enjoying her meal and visiting with everyone at the dinner table. Whenever she would have dinner with us, she had her spot at the table and no one else could sit there. We all have our "usual" places at the dinner table!

I love Thanksgiving! I love having all of my family, friends and friends of friends over for a wonderful meal! It's 2006 and this was a special day because Isabel was there to celebrate with us. When we're all together, it truly is a holiday!

Roy and I love going to Hawaii. This was a great trip. Went with our friends: Carnine, Horaceks and Sharps. This picture was taken at our last dinner of our vacation. So glad we're going back!

Father & Son

Here are my guys! Roy and Michael. They are so much alike in many ways....it's amazing! But, Michael does take after me in the conversation area! He loves to talk and visit with people! These photos were taken back in 2004 and they haven't changed that much in the looks department! I may be a little biased, but I think they are pretty nice looking!

Isabel's 1st Thanksgiving

November, 2006. It's Isabel's first Thanksgiving and she's spending it with her extended family. How special it was for my mom (known as Gigi to the great-grandchildren) and my sisters, Nancy and Nancy to share this day with Isabel. Who knows when we will be able to gather as a family at Thanksgiving again.
