Cancun - the Last Page

This is the last page of our Cancun memories..  Not the last night but my last page.  This was the first evening of  us all being together, hanging out at the shopping center across from the hotel; enjoying why the evening has to offer!  Another great vacation with a wonderful group of friends!  

Last dinner in Cancun

It was our last evening together and we decided to celebrate at an Italian restaurant  which was located at tne mall across the stret fromthe. Hotel.  What a great decision, the food was very delicious  and of course, the company was the best!  I love being able to share special times with friends and look forward to many more adventures!

Chichen itza

When you go to Cancun, you must visit Chichen Itza!  What a amazing place.  We took a tour, leaving from the hotel and I would certainly recommend it.  Great service on the bus, knowledgeable tour guides and overall worth the price of the ticket!  I will be sharing more, so stop by tomorrow !

Page 2 Margaritaville

Just a shot of us enjoying our meal!  Overall, we had a great time even out a margarita or beer!  Hearty laughs, friendly servers, a tasty burger and a motley group of people makes for an enjoyable event!

Margaritaville in Cancun

Well, here is a good story; Ron and Sharon have arrived in Cancun and it is time for some dinner.  We hop on the bus and head over to Margaritaville for some burgers and drinks.  Can you imagine our surprise when we find out that no liquor is being served because it is Election Day!  Well, we made the most of it and enjoyed some tasty, cold water!  We stayed long enough to finish our meal and headed back to the hotel (where they could sell liquor).  We did love our balloon hats and wore them back!

Good times - Cancun

It was a hot and humid afternoon and nothing tastes better than a nice, cold glass of beer!  There was a great shopping area across the street from the resort with many places to choose from to shop, eat and enjoy some happy hour fun!  Mas cervezas por mi amigos por favor!

Our Little Taste of Cuba

This morning, we decided to take a little walk to a liquor store we heard was pretty good.  Once we were there, we discovered that there was a guy selling Cuban coffee and cigars.  We bypassed the cigars and enjoyed some very tasty coffee out on the deck!  These are moments I treasure! Good times with good friends!

Brenna - Brownie Day

It is way back Wednesday!  I am featuring photos from a couple of Brownie Girl Scout activities!  We had a awesome group of girls in our troop.  Looking at the photos, I can still name almost all of the girls.  We had five leaders too!  And the there was the group known as the Mascots!  Just want to share that the grown-up Brenna also gave her daughter, Isabel, the chance to be a scout by being a leader herself!

More Cancun Fun Moments 2013

Just a few more fun moments spent in Cancun with the Horaceks and Carnines.  We are at the Tequila museum, visiting the ruins, watching Ron and Greg swimming in the cenote and just chilling at the resort. Love the memories the bring back to me.  Using the "picture your life" system of scrapbooking you can complete a page pretty quickly.

The Mona Lisas in Cancun

Ok, it may seem a little cheesy to some but I just have so much fun taking photos in those cut-outs!  And of course, I have friends who are great sports!   I saw the Mona Lisa cut-out at the Italian restaurant and suggested we have our picture taken!!!  So, the start of our last dinner together in Cancun was hilarious!  I think Sharon did the best Mona Lisa look!!!  I love my friends, they like to make me happy!

On Beach Time

We are on beach time!!!!   Like I said before, the water (pool or beach) was awesome!  I didn't actually have to get my hair wet and for those of you who know me......get it!!!   I promised Sharon that I would make sure that we were covered in the photo of both us....don't you just love our surfboard!   I wonder what Kathy is looking at in the pool?  LOL   This page is full of sweet summer memories and I'm looking forward to making more with Roy and our friends and family!

Cancun - Water Fun

Our summer vacation last year was outstanding!  What made me decide on this property were the pictures I saw of the pool and the beaches!  The top photo is of the view from our room, every room had a great view.  I asked a couple of teenagers to take our group photo in the pool.  The infinity pool, what a great place to just be at the edge and take in the view of the ocean.  The ocean, such a beautiful color and so clean.....I would most definitely return to the Westin in Cancun.

Tequila Time!

This is the second page of last night's layout.....it's Tequila Time!!  This tour was free, so it is always nice to take advantage of hotel perks!  When we were out shopping in other stores, I would look for the free samples of tequila (yes, they did do that......)  The tour seems a little corny but again, it was fun to do it with our friends!

Summer Fun 2013

Cancun - Summer Vacation July 2013!!  What a great trip we took with our friends the Carnines and Horaceks!  I posted this layout earlier on Facebook - I attended an all-day scrapbooking event today and wanted to make sure I posted my page just in case I didn't make it home by midnight!  And, I have made it home in time to update the blog!   11-days!!!

Here is the story behind this layout, we took a walking tour from our hotel, with a guide,  to a nearby mall to visit the Tequila Museum and enjoy some samplings of different tequilas!  And of course, you cannot go to a tourist spot without having a photo taken with a sombrero.

125 Degrees / Oatman and Havasu

It was June, 1994 and we took a trip to Laughlin with the Carnines.  It was one of the hottest days ever when these photos were taken....it was around 125 degrees...I swear!  Well, we decided to take a side trip to two possibly even hotter spots!  Oatman (because Kathy and I wanted to see where Clark Gable and Carole Lombard spent their honeymoon) and Havasu, just because!  Michael is wearing this thing that Greg bought at one of the shops in Oatman....it kept your neck cool.  I remember everyone wanting to wear that and we had to take turns.  Even though I don't look too happy in the photo with Michael, we still had a wonderful family outing!

First Theme of the 2011-2012 Scrapbook Goal / Friends!

Lizzie Carnine

I have been trying to think of my new scrapbooking goal for the 2011-2012 year and this is what I have decided to do.....I am going to pick a theme for the month and I'm going to scrapbook at least 15-pages centered around that theme.  I am also going to try to upload a video clip once a month showing a scrapbooking technique!  I know that will be a true challenge for me!

On this page, I have Lizzie Carnine as the main theme of the page.   I was fortunate to be able to visit her when she was a month old.  She and her family (my dear friends Kathy and Greg Carnine, mom Laura) were living in Colorado.   So, here we have four people (besides her mother) who love her very much.  Her grandparents, her Auntie Lisa, who came from California also, and myself!  It was great just to sit and hold her all day! 

Arizona with the Carnines!

This is a photo book of our visit with Kathy and Greg back in 2008; a wonderful weekend with our dear friends. We visited some great places....Casa Grande National Monument, the historical town of Tubac and back to Phoenix for breakfast at a restaurant I saw on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! This little book measures 8x8 and was quite easy to put together since I had bunco tonight and I'm a little tired. It was fun to make!
