Upland High School Drill Team

One of my favorite activities in high school was being a member of the drill team!  It was exciting as a parent to participate as a parent when Heather was a member!  Some of the differences were she participated in field shows, where we had parades.  I can still remember our routine.  Great fun and wonderful memories for the both of us!

Wedding Day Smiles

What a wonderful day for Heather and Alex!  So many smiling faces surrounding them!  It was a chilly day but it was a heartwarming ceremony.

We are so lucky that Cristina was there to help with Heather's hair for her big day!  We all enjoyed the morning festivities in Heather's room!  Wait until you see the spread that Brenna provided for everyone!  This was the start of a outstanding day for the Jenkins' family!

For Heather's wedding reception, she came up with the idea of using succulents in her center pieces. And we were so lucky to have Sharon come over to help us.  She is a great friend and we were able to put these together in a couple of hours!  They were so beautiful on the tables!

Melanie's 9th Birthday

One of the best thing about being a member of my family is you get to celebrate your birthday month!  Thi is a combination of two of Melanie's events!  Family dinner at our house and laser tag another evening!  Wait until you see what she did to celebrate at her next party!  I can't believe she is nine!

Great Friends

Wedding receptions bring friends and family together.  And Heather and Alex's reception had such a wonderful group in attendance!  Here are a few of Alex's good friends.  I will have to let him add their names to the page when I have finished their book.

Brenna's 21st Birthday

Here we are celebrating Brenna's 21st birthday at Buca de Beppo in Las Vegas, 2002!  Helping us with the festivities are our Crockett family, Heather and Rudy.  I love eating at the Pope's table!  

I know Bill was there taking the picture.  This group photo means a lot to us because this was the last time we were with Morgan.  It was a most enjoyable birthday. 

Vegas Trip - 1998

I ran across these photos of Heather and I from one of our Vegas trips with the girls from Cabrillo!   It was way back in 1998 or 1999  LOL.  As I remember, we did have some good times on those weekend trips......staying up late gambling, enjoying a good meal and hanging out with friends.  How lucky was I that Heather could join us on one of those trips!

Jackpot at Pauma Casino!

Every Mother's Day for the past several years, we have been heading to a local casino to celebrate not only Mother's Day but we extend Heather's birthday celebration also!  Living in Southern California puts us in the vicinity of many local Indian casinos and one of my favorites is Pauma Casino!  This was a very special day because I won a jackpot on a nickel video poker machine!!!  Deuces wild!!!   This was in 2011 and besides myself and Heather, Roy and Regina were there too.  We let Roy come because he drives!!! 

Tea Time at the Mission Inn

To celebrate  Heather 's wedding, the girls in our family enjoyed tea time at the Mission Inn in Riverside.  It was held in the patio and it was truly an enjoyable experience.  I did hear though that some of them continued the party at another restaurant there (I don't think the little sandwiches were enough). I would most certainly go again!

November 10, 2012 - Heather and Alex's wedding day!!!  Our beautiful daughter and handsome husband starting off their live together - dream big and make things happen!    This paper and kit is from Quick Quotes, I think the color is perfect with the rocks of the desert.....a perfect day and a perfect couple! 

Neon Bone Yard - Las Vegas

I can't believe it's been almost a year and I haven't posted any layouts from Heather and Alex's wedding celebration!   So, here we go!   Thanks to my sister Nancy, we visited the Neon Bone Yard the morning of the wedding.   Such an interesting place and a guide to share the history of Las Vegas as told by the neon signs!

Family Fun at Halloween

After walking up and down 2nd Ave., we headed over to one of the local dining spots, JD's. Here are Heather, Stephanie and Melanie hanging out at JD's. Stephanie reminded me today that Melanie wasn't feeling too well that night; that would explain the look on her face. Darth Vader is not a member of the family....just a oversize kid enjoying the evening! As you can see in all the photos in the previous postings that the adults in our family didn't dress up!

Heather - One Year Old

Here is my baby girl Heather, it's just a week after her first birthday. We were living in Virginia at the time and in our yard were some lawn animals. It looks like she is trying to grab a hold of that duck. She loved sitting on the deer that was close by too. When we were visiting Brenna recently, I noticed lawn animals in quite a few yards in North Carolina. It must be a Southern thing LOL

My Beautiful Daughters 1984

Heather was 10-years old and Brenna was 3-years old in 1984. I think everyone took their children to Olan Mills back then. I always tried to stick with a color theme whenever they had their "photo shoot". My girls are very precious to me and I am so proud of the women they have grown to be. The time has flown by too quickly. Sometimes (just sometimes lol), I miss all the hustle and bustle of those days.

Where did the time go? It seems that it was only yesterday that my baby Heather was a baby! We were living in Virginia when this photo was taken back in 1975. She was such a good baby and is still such a fantastic daughter.

But you've got to have friends!

Heather and her friends back around 1999 hanging out in our backyard! Relaxing and visiting with good people helps to make life good. Abby and Jamie have been friends of Heather's for quite a while (junior high and high school). The other three rounding out the group are Hector, Stephanie (Heather traveled to Europe with her) and Miguel.
